Sculptor Sally Dunham opened Metamorphosis The Gallery on 18th August 2022.
Sally has always been drawn to the sea, it is her favourite place to be, so to open Metamorphosis The Gallery in the amazing location of Staithe Street in the idilic location of Wells-next-the-sea really is a dream come true and realisation of a her long held ambition.
Sally Dunham is a well established sculptor, having been selling her work direct to the public and through galleries since graduating in 1998. She states of Metamorphosis The Gallery, ‘The day I hung my work on the wall of my own gallery literally made me cry. I am so proud of what has been achieved here and am delighted to have invited carefully selected artists to join me in showing and selling their work here in Wells-next-the-sea. I am proud to now represent over 40 makers at the gallery. Each is an independent British artist working to the highest standards.’

Sally aimed for Metamorphosis The Gallery to have a rustic, homely and welcoming feel, this has been achieved using wooden crates to define display areas which showcase the stunning creations in the gallery beautifully and hopefully demonstrate to people how the artwork could look in their own home.
Many of the artists exhibiting at the gallery have been known to Sally for a long time having met many of them over the past 24 years from exhibiting at events or from organising her own art fair, Art Unequalled, over the past 12 years in Ely. Sally states ’It is lovely to have this established relationship with many of the artists and I am honoured to be able to represent them at Metamorphosis The Gallery.

The gallery is the perfect place to source a special piece for your home or equally to find a unique and personal gift. WIth items ranging from £2 to £3000, and created from a diverse range of materials, there really is something for everyone.

Sally heads up an amazing team which include her fiancé Tim Mott, (the spreadsheet king!) and five lovely Artists who help to man the gallery, Sarah Burt, Cheryl Liston, Karen Faulkner-Dunkley, Tracey Ross and Liz James. Without this team the gallery would not be possible as Sally still wants and needs time away from the gallery to create her own sculptures.
